Amayar CWS
The factory area has become a coffee hub, with lots of activity year round from harvest to processing, milling, and transporting. Many farmers drop in to discuss coffee. In the off season, the factory is very peaceful with the sound of birds.
Amayar coffee washing station (CWS) has a Penagos coffee pulper machine, five tanks and 139 (10 x 100cm) drying tables. We produce specialty grade natural, black honey and fully washed coffee. The factory provides jobs for 20–70 employees for the whole year.
We buy the coffee cherries, grade the coffee for quality, clean and remove the floating beans, and dry on the raised bed. It is my joy to see the processed coffee drying under our golden sun and feel the gentle mountain breeze later in the day. I always make time to walk through the drying tables and check the coffee is evenly drying.
I also pay attention to the honey coffee. These beans are literally oozing with mucilage which has a lot of sugar and produces sweet coffees with amazing honey qualities. Depending on the weather, it can take 8–12 days to complete the drying process.
We produce 50-70 tons/year of specialty Arabica Catuai green bean.
